The Bianconi has been trading for over 150 years and having originally been based on a Bianconi stage coach route, has taken it’s name from Killorglin’s rich and proud past as a central town for leisure, business and touring travellers alike. The Bianconi story starts in the early 19th Century, when Charles Bianconi, one of the earliest innovators in public transport in Europe, and the founder of Ireland’s first public transport system started his stage coach routes in 1815. Bianconi realised that ordinary people sought to travel and see Ireland, as well as travel for business in comfort, something we believe in today in the Bianconi, Killorglin.
